There is nothing worse than getting to the beach and them realizing that you forgot to pack something for one of your kids.
When you have kids, trips to the beach take on a new meaning and it takes some time more to prepare and get out the door without forgetting anything.
Whether you are heading to the beach for the 25th time with your family or this is your first outing to the beach with your kids, I have a great checklist for your family beach bag to make sure you are prepared.
This list should help you get everything together for your beach bag to ensure you have a stress-free outing that is fun for you and your kids.
I recommend writing out your own list on a piece of paper and then checking off the items once you have packed them in the bag. This way you know for a fact you have everything you need.

Tips for Packing Your Beach Bag
If you have more than one kid, you may need to pack more than one beach bag depending on how much stuff you have and how long you plan on staying at the beach. You could always use one bag for the essentials and then have another beach bag for toys and such.
Also, don’t try to go with to the beach with just any ordinary beach bag. Instead get one of the best beach bags for families so that you can be sure your stuff will be secure and you can organize your bag much better. When you have kids, a regular old tote bag may not cut it anymore for beach time.
When packing your actual beach bag, start with the larger items on the bottom. A good place to start is to pack all your beach towels on the bottom of the bag. Then you can add in the extra clothes, baby wipes, snacks, and personal items on the top. If you are bringing some toys in the same bag, you may want to use a plastic bag or waterproof bag to hold the items so you don’t get sand on the rest of your belongings.
A good beach bag will have different little compartments that you can store your personal items in to keep them safe. Zippered pockets in the main compartment are a good idea for things like your wallet, keys, and cell phone to protect them from the water and the sand. If your beach beach only has one compartment, look for a small pouch or cosmetics bag to keep these items in and then place them in the beach bag.
To cut back on some space in the beach bag, it’s a good idea to have each family member wear their coverup or clothes over their suits instead of packing them. Unless you plan on being at the beach all day long, you should be able to get by with just these items instead of having to pack more clothes. If you have a small baby you can always pack an extra onesie in case of an accident.
Lastly, when you get to the beach, place your beach bag out of the sun. You can place it under your beach umbrella or stick it in your beach tent so that nothing inside the bag gets too hot or gets ruined from the sun. Try to watch the kids when it comes to pulling items out so that they don’t end up getting water or sand over everything as well.
Going to the beach with your kids should be fun instead of stressful. Prepare yourself ahead of time and pack your family’s beach bag the right way so everything can relax and enjoy the day at the beach.
