Instead of getting your children a plain playhouse for the background why not consider buying a playhouse with a sandbox so they can have even more fun playing outdoors.
A playhouse can be a great addition to your backyard as there really are so many different ways that a child could play with them. But when you add in a sandbox along with the playhouse your child may not ever want to come inside again.
Just think of all the hours of fun kids can have not only playing inside the structure but also enjoying digging and building in the sand as well.
Here are the best playhouses with a sandbox that would be great if you have one kid at home or multiple children.
Cedar Wood Playhouse with Sandbox Underneath
This playhouse/sandbox combo is sure to keep your kid having buys for hours having fun all day long. Your child can play inside the wool looking house and make it all their own as well as have fun digging and making sand sculptures below.
This play measures 6 x 6 feet and is definitely large enough for more than one child to play inside. There are three windows that allow air into the playhouse and two of the windows even have little flower boxes that you can help your child plant flowers in.
The whole structure is made from a quality cedar wood as well as the ladder that is included with the set. (The slide is not included with the set but can be bought separately).
In front of the playhouse there is a 24.5 inch porch that gives it a homey feel for a child and also adds in an additional play area.
You could easily decorate the inside as well as the outside of the playhouse and even put a small table and chairs inside. Most kids would love to be able to pick out some cheap curtains or even hang some artwork on the walls.
The nice thing about having the sandbox under the playhouse is that the sandbox then stays shaded and cooler rather than being out in the open, hot sun. If you wanted you could get a tarp to cover the sandbox to help keep critters and bugs out of the sand.
The playhouse does come assembled so expect to spend several hours putting the structure together. It would be advised that more than one person puts it together if possible.
This is definitely a backyard must-have and will impress your child whether they are 3 or 7 years old.
Outdoor Playground Set with Playhouse and Sandbox
I have to admit that even I am jealous that I never had something like this when I was little. The cool thing about it is, that you can buy it for not much more than what the playhouse above cost.
It is made from a durable, factory- stained cedar wood that is all pre-cut and pre-sanded so all you have to do is assemble everything according to the instructions that are included. Gorilla Playsets are known as an excellent manufacturer of backyard playground systems.
Your kids will literally never want to come inside with all the different activities included in this backyard playground set.
The playhouse at the top is semi-enclosed with a wood roof over it for protection from the sun as well as windows with shutters that can be opened and shut. Then there is another little canopy covered playhouse area across the bridge that leads down to two different types of slides.
Underneath the playhouse you will find the sandbox area that is shaded by the top of the playhouse floor and is also enclosed with a small wooden fence. Plus there is even a built-in picnic table right by the sandbox as well.
Included in this playhouse swing set are tons of different accessories to go along with it.
You get 2 swings and a trapeze bar for the swing set area as well as a wavy slide and a tube slide. There is also a rope climbing wall to get up to the playhouse as well as a wood ladder. In the back is also a rope ladder that can be climbed as well
Along with all that there is also a tic-tac-toe game up in the playhouse, as well as a telescope, steering wheel, and a flag. There are so many ways that a child could play with the upper clubhouse area with not only the accessories but with any toys they currently have or just with their imagination.
Some of the games that my kids like to play with their playhouse include pirates, spy kids, house, and even school.
Here is a picture of the back of the playhouse sandbox area to give you a better look.
While this playground system will cost you quite a bit of money and will take up quite a bit of space in your backyard you will be amazed at just how much your child will use the structure. Plus you probably will be the hit of the neighborhood as well.
A backyard playhouse with a sandbox can be a great way to get your toddler outdoors having fun as well as even older children. It’s also nice to have since your child will be in your backyard playing where you can keep a close eye on them but also give them some freedom to play and have fun.
