What Is The Best Inflatable Water Slide For Your Backyard – Quick Buying Guide
Before buying a slide there are some important factors to consider.
Size Of The Slide Compared To Available Space
Always check to make sure you have enough space in your backyard or front yard to properly inflate the water slide. You also want to take into consideration a safety zone area around the inflatable for kids exciting and entering into the water.
Age of Your Children And Family Members Who May Be Using The Slide
Every inflatable water slide is going to have a total weight limit as well as a per person weight limit. Be sure to check these limits and restrictions to ensure that your kids will be safe while playing. If you have older children who will be using or even teens or parents who want to enjoy the water fun look for a slide that has a much higher weight limit. On the other hand you also want to consider how large a slide is if you have younger children or toddlers. Try to buy one that is best suited to the ages that will be using it.
Available Budget You Have To Spend
These backyard water slides can get quite expensive so you want to make sure you set a budget and consider the price before buying. You’ll find that most cost anywhere between $200 up to $800 or more for the larger inflatables.
Quality Of The Inflatable
Of course you always need to consider the quality of the inflatable materials as well as the inflatable water slide reviews. After doing research I was able to find some of the best inflatable backyard water slides that had great reviews and were well worth their money. In doing that research I did come across several poorly rated water slides that easily got holes or ruined on the first use. Defintiely check out all the reviews for the slide as well as look for ones that come with patch kits and warranties.

This inflatable water park features two smaller slides on the side and then an easy climbing wall in the middle to get up to the slides.
The reason why I recommend this slide for toddlers and younger kids is because the weight limit is only 350 pounds total. The capacity is only 4 kids which means that it is only recommended for younger kids under around 85 or so pounds. Now most toddlers don’t weight anywhere near 85 pounds so it definitely could be used for older kids but just not as old as the slides mentioned above.
It does come with the blower to easily inflate it as well as a repair kit. It also comes with a storage bag and anchors like most other water parks.

Best Inexpensive Water Slide for the Backyard
If you don’t have a few hundred dollars to spend on an inflatable water slide for your kids, then you can still find some great options that are a lot less inexpensive. They may not be as large as the more expensive ones or even come with as many features but kids will still love sliding in the water.
The Intex Surf N’ Slide Inflatable sells for a much lower price than any of the items above and can still be a good option for parents on a strict budget.
As you can see the water slide doesn’t come with a huge attached splash pool but that doesn’t mean it still can’t be a lot of fun for kids. The bottom of the slide does fill with water though and offers plenty of splashing when sliding.
It does come with two inflatable surf riders for the slide and the bottom of the slide does feature a landing mat for extra padding for safety reasons.
This is a nice alternative to a regular kiddie pool as you can buy it at a good, affordable price. This is also nice for families that may not have large backyards to fit the huge inflatable water parks in as well.

The recommended weight limit is 176 pounds which means even older kids can ride down this slide.
Benefits Of A Backyard Water Slide
Although many of these slides are on the expensive side (check out my recommendation for the best inexpensive slide) when you buy a quality slide there are lots of benefits for not only kids but for the whole family.

Although you may consider some of these inflatable slides to be quite a bit of money if you compare it to the alternatives they are actually a lot more affordable. They are much cheaper than putting in a pool in your backyard. Over time they are even cheaper than buying pool passes or splash park passes for your whole family. You can probably even buy one for what a year splash park pass would cost for a family of 5.

You can’t just pack up your inground pool, but with an inflatable water slide (which most come with a good storage bag) you can share it with friends and family. It can also be stored away when not in use as well as during the colder months and you don’t have to worry about any type of upkeep.

They are a wonderful way to get your kid having fun in the sun (yeah for natural vitamin D) and being active away from a screen. Plus, they are great for making family memories right in your own backyard.
3 Tips For Using Your Inflatable Water Slide Properly – Get The Most Out Of Your Money!
Make Sure To Assemble Your Inflatable Properly
Follow all the manufacturer’s directions for assembly as well as recommended surfaces. Although these inflatables aren’t hard to get up, each one may be slightly different when it comes to running the blower and assembling the hose into the inflatable. As mentioned, also be sure to follow directions for the type of surface recommended for the slide. Most are only to be used on a soft grass surface.
Create and Enforce Safety Rules With Your Children
Although these inflatable backyard slides are safe, if they are not used properly, someone may get hurt. Be sure to go over all the safety rules with any child who will be playing on the water park. Some rules to really enforce include no pushing, no standing at the top of the slide, and no running. Lastly, make sure kids know they need adult supervision at all times.
Keep Sharp Objects Away From The Inflatable
Keep any type of sharp object (including certain toys) away from the inflatable. There should be no shoes or even water shoes worn on the water slides. Although most of the top inflatable water slides are puncture resistant they are not completely resistant to sharp objects.
